decided to care about license compatibility for an upcoming project, and… aaaa FSF why did you rename the LGPL. it feels dangerous to assume that the “Lesser General Public License” v2.1 will be considered a newer version of the “Library General Public License” v2.0 by lawyers…
oh okay the LGPLv2.1 has this text in it:
“[This is the first released version of the Lesser GPL. It also counts
as the successor of the GNU Library Public License, version 2, hence
the version number 2.1.]”
that’s probably good enough, though I wish LGPLv3 said this too
