cargo add why are you spending several minutes with a maxed-out cpu core and no network activity “updating the index”. please i just want to add a tiny dependency. it doesn’t even have dependencies i don’t already have…

i don’t know what the “d” is but it’s probably “delta”? is it perhaps a delta so big it would be quicker to redownload the whole file?
okay yeah it is literally quicker to just rm -rf ~/.cargo/registry. but i do have a very fast swedish internet connection (albeit constrained by wifi so it’s a mere 50mbps or something)
(the problem is that cargo, just like homebrew, uses a git repo…)
@hikari i sure hope this is on the roadmap to be reworked because rn it kinda sucks lol
