I’m installing an ancient version of OS X in a virtual machine for… reasons… and aah, what a beautiful UI, how I’ve missed this.
btw getting an OS X VM set up on a Mac is apparently super easy? the InstallESD.dmg file inside the installer from Apple can be mounted as a bootable optical drive in VirtualBox. I didn’t do any research

apparently, when it goes to sleep, it makes the screen white rather than black. I bet that’s ideal for LCDs (they’ll still look black because the backlight is off)
