if there's one thing the current anti-queer moral panic shows, it's how deeply society at large refuses to accept children are people too. every queer adult was once a queer child, and there is nothing sinister in trying to improve things for queer kids as we do for queer adults.
moreover, children have agency just as adults do. children deserve autonomy and privacy as much as adults do, including over their own bodies. there are some caveats to that, of course, but the key thing is: children aren't property of their parents or the state, they're people.
@hikari This only furthers your point, considering how they instrumentalize children, but they know they aren't doing this for them. They know they are using children as a means to go after queer people as a whole, and sadly they know that it works.
