jump to expanded postI've had a “minor ailment” that I've been managing really badly for quite a while and realised I needed to get professional medical help. I was dreading having to get up early in the morning and sit in a phone queue to get a time to see a doctor…
…long story short, wow, for this kind of “minor ailment” I can use the local healthcare region's online service where I fill in a questionnaire, upload a photo, write a short description, wait a few minutes and then have a text chat with a real doctor. the future is amazing
the time saving alone is great, but what I really love is the text chat aspect. I'm from that new generation or whatever that hates phone calls. also as an immigrant, it's easier to communicate in my second language using text rather than speech.
I assume this whole thing is designed around “improving efficiency” (saving money) for the system, but it happens to be a lot more convenient for me personally in this specific situation. sometimes things are win-win, huh.
