jump to expanded posttouchHLE status update, not prompted by anything in particular: I've spent most of my time the past week working on the new application compatibility database, that will replace the current manually maintained list of supported apps. I'm hoping to put it live in a few days.
it's been my highest priority because the number of apps that work in touchHLE is no longer easy to keep track of. there are several apps that work that are missing from the list, but that I haven't personally tested, so I haven't added them. also each app has so many versions.
switching to a crowdsourced compatibility database makes things a lot better. anyone will be able to submit reports about which apps do/don't work, and all I have to do is approve them. reports will be in a standardised format to aid comparison, review and, eventually, searching.
βͺI'm excited about this. it'll be fun seeing reports for games I've never heard of that unexpectedly work in touchHLE. right now I know of a handful but there's not any definitive list of all working games. I'm hoping that lots of people will contribute.β¬
βͺanyway, once the database is live, I have uhhhhhh a huge mountain of patches to review. there is so much work going on with touchHLE that isn't by me! it's really exciting! it feels weird realising that writing code is actually the least important thing i can do now??? hahaβ¬
