jump to expanded postat long last, I am pleased to announce the "touchHLE app compatibility database"!
instead of a manually curated "app compatibility list", there's now a database that anyone can contribute to. if you find an iPhone OS 2.x app that works, you can add it!
some notes:
- all reports are moderated before they become public
- as a precautionary measure, you can't submit a new report if your previous report hasn't been approved yet. I know this is annoying, sorry. I may adjust this down the road if all goes well.
- you can upload screenshots! yay
- please bear in mind that it's more useful to know about working apps than broken ones, and you should only test apps that have a chance of working (iOS 2 apps)
btw, I wrote the web app over the last 10 days and it's open source ^^ https://github.com/hikari-no-yume/app-compatibility-db
@hikari the entry for Cat Physics reminded me of that game's existence and made me have a flashback to about 10 years ago when I was very small, playing it on my mum's iPhone :o
@eta the developers are absolute saints, they still maintain the game and sell it on the major platforms, if you feel like playing it again
@hikari woah! I was planning to try and get it working under touchHLE, but you're right: you can just buy it on the 2023 app store for £2 :o
