what other category of 90's consumer electronics that's not targeted at hackers usually comes with a physical manual with multiple appendices comprehensively describing a device-specific packet-based binary protocol, all in hexadecimal? :3
i really need to write up some of what i've learned from this fascinating and beautiful retro world i've dived into head-first
@hikari I feel that musicians playing MIDI instruments are hackers by default. They'd have to go out of their way to not be.
Same with modular synthesisers.
