✶ω✶
finished watching it (the first episode of oshi no ko, which is an entire fucking movie)

what an incredible example of modifying the setting to allow you to tell a more interesting story, huh
finished watching the first season of oshi no ko
it's so good… i'm (six-pointed) star-struck

oshi no ko s2 ep4 has this scene where they're discussing script alterations which shows what's clearly google docs with japanese vertical text support, and i so wanted to believe this was real, but as far as i can tell, it's not (horizontal only), and that makes me very sad
oshi no ko s2 ep5 has a scene where the music is extremely ace attorney…
the way oshi no ko s2 dedicates more than three episodes just to depicting the play the characters have spent the whole season up to this point prepping for, is just… excellent. i especially appreciate all the times they pull back and show it as the audience would see it
oh yeah we finished oshi no ko s2 the other day. it was good and i do recommend it, but i feel like they should've wrapped the series up at the end rather than trying to hook a third season, felt pretty forced tbh. i'm excited for ruby's new arc tho, assuming it'll get made
@hikari I mean. it's an adaptation. and yes S3 was announced
@hikari relatedly, I'm glad they did that because it helped me understand what was going on with the theater itself!
Though I'm still not entirely sure how emergency exits work with the seats on a rotating platform.
@saagar exactly
@saagar my watching companion had to take a break, unfortunately
@hikari After reading the synopsis I think I should check this out
@quirk it is incredible
@hikari I have now watched the first episode and wow, that was amazing!
@hikari@social.noyu.me strongest first episode in all of anime
@hikari@social.noyu.me admittedly making the first episode a full movie is kinda cheating but it's a damn good movie
@hikari Ohhh you're in for a treat! I didn't realize the length of the episode until like 35 minutes in when I wondered what's up with it. Mind was blown.
@stefandesu yeah I think by like 30 minutes in I was starting to suspect this wasn't a normal-length episode,,,
@hikari I later found out that they aired it in movie theaters all over the world and wished I could have experienced that.
