jump to expanded postthe X gender marker on passports is cool, but here's what actually rules: if you get one, the machine-readable zone doesn't contain an X, it contains no gender at all. the space is filled by > which is used as a filler/spacer (e.g. names are written like NO>YUME>>HIKARI>>>>>>>)
it is like those japanese characters whose official bios say βgender: ποΈ (secret)β. it is not a third gender, it is the death of gender. it fucking rules, and i can only wish to have the chance to get it

warning: do not put an illustrative image of a fake passport or identity card in your anime series, film or video game and expect me not to notice the ways it fails to conform to the machine readable travel documents specification. i will notice,
oops it's < not >
