google (youtube) decided to show me a pre-roll ad about how google (google) is responding to… idk, gdpr litigation? but this is intended for “marketers”, not for the likes of me. it is a very strange thing to watch. seriously just watch a few seconds https://youtu.be/Vi4w_FHjC1s
they like. they actually say the quiet part out loud (that the goal of the old consent popups was to get as much data out of you as possible and overwhelm users)
also they actually refer to the past as the “good old days”
