jump to expanded posti bought a usb flash drive and there wasn't any bloatware preloaded? just a truly empty preformatted exFAT partition? samsung… thank you…
holy shit, i installed ubuntu onto a manually partitioned usb flash drive inside a vm (with usb passthrough), then rebooted my intel macbook and booted from the drive directly, and not only does it boot, but closing my laptop lid moves the login screen to my external monitor?

- while the 3d graphics drivers work, somewhere between wine and sdl2 my controller doesn't work lol
everything just works so well? goddamn
- the desktop is buttery smooth. friendship ended with x11, now wayland is my best friend
- midi works flawlessly as i hoped
- midi works flawlessly under wine as i hoped
- how is my favourite midi editor running this smoothly under wine
holy shit the midi editor (sekaiju) actually works better under wine than under windows because rasterisation of new pages seemingly doesn't lag it? that's incredible. i would never have expected this
i am over the fucking moon. i really needed my desperate plan to be able to do midi while not having access to my windows pc to work out, but i was expecting it to require like. arcane sacrifices. i am eternally thankful to every oss contributor who somehow made this Just Work
