jump to expanded postwine has pretty bad high-dpi support but maybe this is fixable…
also huh this version doesn't like wayland
omg <3
yoooo the modern wine game controllers control panel is better than the one in windows, it shows you both a dinput and an xinput view of your controller, and lets you test rumble. sick
I'd just like to interject for a moment. What you're referring to as Linux, is in fact, Wine/Linux, or as I've recently taken to calling it, Wine plus Linux. Linux is not an operating system unto itself, but rather another free component of a fully functioning Wine system made useful by the Wine translation layer and ReactOS shell utilities and accessories comprising a full OS as defined by Microsoft.
well this is cursed almost beyond recognition
@icedquinn i'm running fake windows (reactos)'s apps on the windows compatibility layer (wine) on linux :) on a macbook :)
@ElDeadKennedy @icedquinn @coolboymew yes and crucially reactos is not based on linux

@ElDeadKennedy @icedquinn @coolboymew that sounds like a fun project, i'd encourage it! reactos has sadly never reached the maturity needed to run well on modern computers or run modern software, but on a 90's computer with the right hardware and ancient software it might be fun
@hikari wine has extensive usb support for reasons and can run kernel drivers in the usermode ntoskrnl.exe
i tried adding proper winusb support but setupdi is hell
@hikari does anything have good high DPI support? AIUI Apple gets by by faking it, and is hit or miss on non-Apple displays, Linux has multiple different systems that need to be configured separately and not all apps adhere to any of them, and Windows is OK for “modern” apps but a disaster for anything non-modern, which is almost all Windows software.
@h0m54r well, the blurry mess you get post-vista is still better in most cases than the pre-vista (and apparently, wine) behaviour of scaling up the fonts but not scaling some ui elements to match (some apps do get it right but most don't)
@hikari Oh, the latter is my experience of trying to do it in Windows 7
@jernej__s @h0m54r ohh huh! i might have seen screenshots of this before without knowing what it was. that's neat
@jernej__s @h0m54r yes, that's the tool i've seen it in! i was surprised by the mix
@hikari *nothing* likes wayland unless it was *built* for wayland
@hikari Wayland doesn't like Wayland
