jump to expanded postit's funny how modern x64 linux distros that you can't install on 32-bit x86 machines still include i386 versions of everything in their package repositories because wine sort of still needs them (well, i can't think of a strong other reason to include them)
wine now has wow64 though, finally! supposedly it still has some issues but this means i386 might finally die on linux
@hikari fwiw I've heard of 32 bit wine occasionally working better for backwards compatibility with some very old win32 software than Microsoft's actual WoW64
@hikari also maybe someone wants Steam w/o Steam Runtime?
@hikari My main Linux system doesn't have Wine or Steam. The only reason I have a 32bit glibc installed is... the closed-source driver for my Dell printer.

Not as good as actual pointer compression but still
