has matt mullenweg ever heard of “promissory estoppel”. that's the legal concept in common law that you can't promise something and then go back on your word if someone actually relied on that promise. just. throwing that one out there
@hikari WPE threw that one out there too (it’s one of their claims in the complaint they filed; a complaint which is incredible, Matt is so screwed)
@demize oh right i should just read the complaint huh. and yeah matt is incredibly screwed and i think at this point his only way out is an uno reverse card: paying wp engine 8% of automattic's revenue to make them drop the lawsuit
