jump to expanded postok here's a hikari no yume certified life pro tip: if your friend who you know knows their shit in some respect recommends some kind of media to you, make sure you save the recommendation somewhere, a notes app, a text file, paper, whatever. you'll thank yourself later
you will not have the necessary βa-haβ moment needed to create the memory until you have experienced the thing, and you experiencing the thing may take some time after getting the recommendation, so you gotta do something to give it a chance to happen
the reason i'm saying all this is i've had a horrible habit over the last few years of desperately needing recommendations of new media to consume and then failing to make note of them, meaning by the time i am in the right mood to act upon them, it would require a lot of effort
also even when i have gotten recommendations and followed up on them, if i don't make notes i forget the proper context of how i came across something, and that context can be crucial to finding more stuff i would like. it's rarely just a single songβ¦
oh, i think also i benefit from not having this in my to-do list, because that feels like a chore. instead it's a treasured collection of personal notes
