does anyone know how to limit the maximum audio output volume in macOS so that i have volume level options other than “silent”, “okayish”, “too loud” and “too loud (100 worse variations)”
bonus points if you have any idea how to do the equivalent in windows and linux
@hikari sry to answer nothing useful but I recently bought a usb DAC and I found out that most of the time I need the volume to be between 1 and 10 and anything else is far too loud. Problem is that if one day I put my ear plugs on this DAC and volume happens to be at 100 I will destroy either my ears or my ear plugs. I looked on internet on how to restrict the volume (I am on windows) and basically I found nothing good. If you find something, please tell me !!
@hikari My solution involves speakers with physical volume controls. The other benefit of this approach is that when the speakers are turned off, I know for certain that they are not going to make an unexpected noise while I’m on Zoom or recording a video or whatever.
