what the fuck if you slap a ton of reverb on it the distortion guitar on this actually starts to sound kinda decent. i don't mean it sounds realistic but rather that it's respectable in its own right

this is literally making my doubt my own ears how is this the sc-7 distortion guitar. my secondary audio cable isn't even connected. it's literally impossible for me to have recorded anything else

what the fuck were roland smoking in 1991 when they made the sc-55 capital tones. i want it, whatever it was. they're kind of cliché and everyone is traumatised by their bad derivatives built-in to windows, but they're actually still really really good for what they are

for the record i am aware this isn't grammatically coherent but the chorus of the bocchi the rock opening literally has “hikari no” in it so i am legally compelled to joke about it
@hikari what perplexes me more is this is roland. literally the same company as boss stompboxes. and they still didnt add an actual distortion effect that made the distortion guitar patches sound like a distorted guitar and not a saxophone from hell on acid
@unspeaker oh they did do that (sc-88 pro incorporates a multi-fx unit previously used in some boss product), but it took them five years. weirdly enough yamaha beat them to it by at least two

@hikari No you're right. It's not the sound it's "meant" to be, but... I was going to say "it sounds great if that's the sound you want" but that's true of literally any sound. I mean more like... I can see a use for it very easily.
