jump to expanded posti first watched madoka, the tv series, more than a decade ago. i just saw the first movie for the first time
what the fuck
it's such an immaculate work
what an incredible film
i think i am lucky i am not in a more receptive state of mind this movie could destroy someone
i think it's enhanced by having seen madoka before, but a very, very long time ago, and in the less refined form that the tv series was. it made the characters' fates weigh heavier, because while i couldn't recall them precisely, it made every bit of foreshadowing echo louder
this is not a “recap movie” it is a work of fucking art
if you want to watch it i would recommend doing it in a low-noise environment, preferably with headphones, and with minimal distractions or interruptions
senjougahomu
i watched the second movie and i cried three times so it's probably pretty good too
the madoka series really is larger than life. i was struggling to find the words for it, and then it struck me, there's none other than… “canonical”. it is a codified myth
madohomu never loses relevancy because it can't. it's canonical. it is the beginning and the end of yuri. it is mythic
symptoms of watching madoka can include: hearing madoka background music in your head in ordinary moments of waking life
i have seen the third madoka movie, rebellion.
any rumours that i have previously seen this movie and had any opinions at the time are incorrect.
homura did nothing wrong.
this is my sincere opinion
(also, yes, i did cry to some degree more than once, if that's the metric)
