i am still so happy about how i designed the touchHLE app compatibility database nyeheheheh. i did long-term planning for how to keep the file size reasonable and despite it now containing hundreds of compatibility reports and screenshots, the entire database is 12MB in size :3
i have a bad habit of not giving myself enough storage space, but it's also made me surprisingly frugal in the right ways, and it's very reassuring that even if this thing grows by 100 times i will never run out of space for storing the backups
sqlite3 is the one true database don't let them ever tell you that the thing you're making needs more than that, they don't understand!!! you can worry about mariadb and postgres when you're making bank
you can run an entire empire of little websites for like a few bucks a month it's pretty good i recommend getting over the hurdle of “oh but i have to pay for this” if you have the money, because it's really not a lot of money, it's less than a streaming service
and suddenly you are free from problems like “oh google drive FUCKING SUCKS” or “oh dropbox FUCKING SUCKS” or “oh youtube FUCKING SUCKS” you can just yeet stuff up at like https colon slash slash hikari dot noyu dot me slash whatever dot mp4 and link it to people it's great
