i wonder if anything will be more terrifying in the long run than the fact i had to read Of Mice and Men and Flowers for Algernon in english literature class
‪they are both works about the mercy of death.‬
‪i think it was the correct choice to force schoolkids to read those.‬
‪the purpose of english literature class is not to make you a good writer. it's to traumatise you in the right way that you might one day figure it out yourself. something like that‬
