jump to expanded posti am once again BEGGING you if you have any interest in music to get yourself a small instrument you can just grab and play whenever in a maximally convenient way
in my case i am a (bad) keyboardist and i have a little yamaha 37-mini-keys thing with speakers and batteries that sits in my lap and even though i have other instruments and bigger keyboards i find myself constantly drawn to it because it's SO easy to just PLAY whenever
this is not the specific keyboard i have but from what i've seen i can highly recommend it: you should get a Yamaha PSS-A50 it's like 100 bucks it's a tiny little keyboard that's self-contained and fun and tons of features and also a MIDI controller
i might actually just let myself get a PSS-A50 too it's so small and cheap that i can't possibly regret it
holy shit it's actually 999 swedenbucks (moral equivalent of 99 americabucks) on thomann i can't believe it i might actually have to
in any case ALLOW YOURSELF TO CAPTURE THE INSPIRATION WHENEVER IT STRIKES YOU
@hikari thats the abridged version of how I picked up the accordion
Except in my case it was blocket instead of thomann
@deepy this sounds like a great time!
@deepy somehow hadn't realised until now that you had been to ireland and back. i think that makes me feel some kind of affinity for you. i haven't lived in ireland, but as you probably know, i have lived in the uk
@hikari moving to Ireland was the best decision of my life and moving away is something I regret on an almost daily basis 🥲
But yeah, I think the same here, though I think you're on the more interesting route
@deepy were you forced to move back?
@hikari yeah, my contract ran out and I couldn't find another software development job in time
So I moved to Denmark with my partner at the time, where I couldn't find one either, so shortly after we moved to Sweden
Where I found one pretty quickly by applying to a 4 year old ad
So now my life is here, but my heart is elsewhere, and I'd need to get rich to change that 😛
@hikari I've got a great life here though, can't complain about anything but the weather - and that's the national sport
