i wonder if it's just how their stuff is mixed or if the listening equipment i have is just particularly unsuited to optimally enjoying ling tosite sigure's output
i've eliminated the “youtube compression” factor now at least, these itunes releases should be 256k aac which must be beyond my ability to hear differences
i have a suspicion it's because these IEMs only have a single driver in them but i really do not have the experience or knowledge to justify such a suspicion
update: it was my foam sleeve things having degraded to shit (they are uhh förbrukningsvaror… consumables? yeah that). i mean the mix still kinda sounds like a mid-bitrate mp3 but suddenly with the silicone ones i can perceive things again
@hikari oh yeah, those are consumables, though good ones will last longer
try a few and see what's comfortable and gives you sound you like
I like the memory foam tips from comply. they have a noise isolating variant that is godly for reducing the wheel screech on london underground
@scarlet i'll consider it but tbh i'll probably just go back to silicone, it's reliable if nothing else
