oh you know what might be difficult to explain to the next generation? teletext. before digital tv, there was analog tv. and yet it had a digital unidirectional/read-only internet-like service accessed via the tv remote that visually resembled a zx spectrum game or something

‪you could stretch the text window/layer 2x vertically so you only saw half at once. you could also make it transparent‬
