you have to let the unreal be real. you have to be able to swim so deep in it without being afraid of drowning. you have to let the hypothetical envelop you and become your world, even if just for a moment, and trust that you'll find the way out, that a star will guide you home

you have object permanence, right? forget for a moment that you do. crush the world into a tiny ball, and hide it behind you. now you're outside it, and you can't see the way back. is that terrifying? it shouldn't be.
