jump to expanded postaaaaaaaaa my headphones amp for my guitar has arrived already but it's with DHL and they are forcing me to DOWNLOAD AN APP to collect a package that's NOT EVEN THEIR OWN APP and which i was not informed of when ordering and i had to UNINSTALL FOUR DIFFERENT APPS to make space
DHL Sweden please rip up your contract with ”iBoxen AB” a company that sends you an SMS requiring you to install a mobile app to collect a fucking package does not deserve a single krona
this is also fucking cybercrime-baiting behaviour let's be honest here there is NO circumstance where “you are receiving a package! install this app” is not fishy
sometimes, when faced with a website-and-code-sent-by-SMS-shaped problem, someone thinks “i know! let's make a mandatory mobile app using bluetooth and gps!”
now you have five problems including having to fire the person who approved that fucking idea
This is actually an impressively terrible design i think it could only be worse if it required NFC (then i would have no headphone guitar amp at all rn and would be performing a cursing ritual on this company). bluetooth is not even necessary for offline operation come ON
oh my god you KNOW it's bad when the english-language reviews page for an app only available in sweden (i.e. a tiny subset) gives dozens upon dozens of 1-star reviews
their justification for why they use an app is that the package lockers don't have mains power because they're running in outside locations. this is a bad reason. bluetooth also requires energy. you do not need a bright touchscreen a PIN pad and 7-segment LED screen would be FINE
