oh ukulele has two u's and two e's, that's how you know i'm a native english speaker; the second vowel is just a schwa in my brain and seeing “uke” makes me forget it's meant to be a u
the mental image of someone rocking out on a ukulele is too funny i think picking this up as a bit is a good idea (but i won't do it myself any time soon lmao)
put it this way, it's a guitar-like instrument you could probably take on a plane without it getting destroyed
