glad i actually did one of those “do this next year” things, and two weeks early to boot
(okay, i have not learned guitar yet, but having the opportunity to is the first step!)
is it strange that a primitive sampling of an electric guitar is what finally made me admit i must make it personal priority number one? it's so far away from the real thing, and yet, you know, even if only 1% of the light of a distant star reaches me, it still is beautiful
i wish i had a recording of the full keyboard noodling session that made me feel like that, it was jamming out with the higher octaves on the distortion guitar preset that really made me feel like “no fuck i Have To Get A Guitar i want to be able to hear this For Real”
i think this piece of life advice won't age poorly: if you ever find yourself thinking “man i wish i knew an instrument” THEN YOU HAVE TO GET AN INSTRUMENT ASAP
my entire “musician arc” is downstream of me feeling that at the end of 2022
i got a keyboard within like a week
