jump to expanded postoh my god if i strum my guitar (unamplified) at around the tenth fret the high strings start sounding almost like a synth, i can't tell you if it's a square wave or some other kind of wave it reminds me of, but it's a really lovely sound
‪i'm sure it's some really complicated stuff with harmonics that'll take me a long time to understand, but oh my god the Potential this instrument has. i think it'll really make a splash now the second world war is over what do you think guys‬
‪fucking hell the guitar really is The Instrument because everything i know about music suddenly becomes intensely more relevant to every aspect of this thing. harmonics go from this 1d concept applied to audio files to this 3d thing i can MANIPULATE WITH MY FINGERS and FEEL‬
@hikari your recent posts about your adventures with the guitar are very interesting!
i started learning the bass some days ago and i‘m having a blast just slowly memorising some riffs and coming up with my own things and making it part of my daily routine to play a little. I have close to no knowledge about music theory or technique with this instrument, i just do what feels right and have a lot of fun with it.
@yuri that makes me glad to hear!! i know only a little bit about music myself, probably more than a pure beginner, but what's been fun is using my limited knowledge from other instruments and trying to extrapolate to guitar, it's very satisfying to figure things out yourself
@hikari what's cool to try is hover your left hand over the 4th, 5th, 7th, 9th or 12th fret touching the strings as light as you possibly can and strum with the right hand. There are lots of beautiful natural harmonics there to be found.
