one of the reasons i'm so enamoured with the guitar is that i think this might end up being the first instrument other than my voice that i can play fluently by ear. chord shapes are the devil for me currently but moving up and down the fretboard is so fundamentally intuitive
diatonic scale enthusiasts be like noooo if there isn't racism for pitches how will you learn scales and my answer to that is that i already know intuitively if something is in key and i hear pitch differences in semitones not in tones, so the keyboard is just Needlessly Annoying
i do not know where i picked this up from since i have only extremely briefly tried guitar once in the past, but i have long had that temptation to mime fretboard movements with my hand whenever i listen to music, and with any luck those mimes will soon actually be Correct
@hikari may I then suggest that you might also find some delight in the tuning for a Russian seven string guitar? I had some fun emulating it on six strings.
