have we considered the possibility that approximately the entire “observable universe” is just part of the 3d skybox and someday we'll bonk against the hard wall of space
humanity develops the noclip drive, sets out on a voyage with unbridled optimism about what lies ahead, and then when long past the point of no return, blinks past the infinitely thin wall previously unknown to us and discovers nought but an endless pitch-black void exists beyond

@hikari I think half-way to the skybox we'll hit the level load transition and a "node graph out of date, rebuilding" dialog first but maybe with sufficient FTL noclip we can bypass the loading trigger to bonk the skybox of the cosmos
