oh is that why random access memories still hits a spot that other albums don't. it's not mastered to win a loudness war it's mastered to actually be enjoyable to listen to
the loudness war has real consequences, there's an album i kinda regret buying because i cannot comfortably listen to it, you can just Feel the brickwalling with how fatigued the ears get after listening; i decided to finally open it in audacity, wasn't surprised by the result
