jump to expanded posti should probably try to “properly” learn guitar at some point, does anyone want to point me to some guide which i will then proceed to more or less completely ignore despite my stated intentions
at this rate i will rediscover every movable chord spanning three frets from first principles and fluently play all my favourite melodies by ear long before i learn, uh… how to hold a guitar; how to use a pick; how to strum; pitch class names of fret positions; chord names;

of all the guides I've come across this one has really stuck with me, I've gone back to it a few times over the years. don't mind the clickbaity title, he goes through a wide range of thumb positions and when they might be helpful and when they might not be

All of Paul's stuff is quite good imo, if you like his vibe I'd suggest looking up more of his stuff, it's usually pretty "to the point" without too much fluff
I'd love to talk guitar or music theory anytime btw :3
