if i am using twitter primarily in a write-only fashion my life is going well. if i am using twitter primarily in a read-only fashion and retweeting a lot then my life is going terribly and i need to log off
the shameful secret is i basically only use bsky and the fediverse in a write-only fashion so how my life is going is less obvious if you only read those
watch anime, read a book, work on something, whatever, anything's better than mindless scrolling
‪i would say one of the evils of the algorithmic timeline is making this feel less mindless by increasing the superficial interestingness of what you see, making it easier to remain trapped‬
