it's amazing how much low-pass-filtering a human voice to 4kHz changes its tone
i just got jumpscared by the bit in https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FG9jemV1T7I where Monty's voice is low-passed to 4kHz because suddenly he sounds like the “This is an example of Speex” guy (and, well, come to think of it, he almost certainly Is that guy)
