so my girlfriend is actually a Rhythm Gamer (😔) and she has some guitar hero controllers from back when those were a thing and oh my god look at this thing it is so Small it is Baby it is so Tinyyyy it's so cute it's overriding my underlying sadness at it not being an instrument

‪okay i apologise to guitar hero i just tried out playing a bit of one of the better guitar hero games (rock band 2) and the two-hand co-ordination gimmick makes it more fun than it looks and i have a much easier time playing if i engage guitarist brain not rhythm gamer brain(!)‬

my girlfriend was surprised that moving up and down the fretboard (guitarist brain) was easier and more fun for me when playing on medium difficulty than keeping all four fingers on the buttons (keyboardist or rhythm gamer brain), imo it says something about how my brain is wired

‪i became convinced that design of guitar hero controllers makes the game unfun for me since i'm used to real guitar. too tiny, wrong fret spacing, no strings‬

‪decided to try to pretend play guitar hero bass on my actual guitar (on five frets + one string) and IT'S SO MUCH EASIER‬

‪i'm extremely excited to try rock band 3 pro mode (real guitar 17 frets + 6 strings) now once i get the squier because even though it's supposedly a lot more difficult than the normal mode (fake guitar 5 fret buttons + 1 strum bar) i think it'll actually be a lot easier for me‬
