finally having a phone with usb-c is fucking magical, i can just connect my midi keyboard or my zoom multi-effect pedal or my audio interface or my midi interface… directly to my phone. without special cables or adapters… i can use the same hub as for my laptop, it Just Works
thank you to usb-if for coming up with usb-c, banishing the concept of a usb otg adapter to the dustbin of history, and also thank you to the eu for forcing apple to adopt this (not that it affects me now lmao, too late, bought an android phone instead)
the great thing about owning an android phone is that since i can run whatever the hell i want on it without grovelling before tim apple, i now can play synthesia on it without buying it a second time, and i can also plug in a game controller for TOUCHHLE AND DOLPHIN BABY YEAAA

@hikari I was really glad when the EU DMA came to be. Finally iPhones would be viable to me again (even if Apple needed a bit of convincing). But now that they resisted and still somewhat avoided it, I'm disgusted with how hostile they are to their own customers. I don't think I'll get an iPhone even if they magically implement sideloading now. Android is bad, but iOS is worse for no reason other than apple being stubborn.
@phoefer yes i'm the same, apple's malicious letter-but-not-spirit compliance with the eu dma made me finally completely sour on them
