if those 145% US tariffs on Chinese imports stick around for any length of time, it's going to cause mass bankruptcies in American manufacturing, presumably the exact opposite of what the administration wants. really utterly tragic situation

@hikari I don't think it's at all the opposite of what they want. They want a postapocalyptic hellscape where they imagine folks will adore strongmen.

@hikari Perhaps it'll be when the well-known USA hubris and exceptionalism will learn a lesson.
Hopefully, the bully government of the oligarchs will teach some much-needed humility to the USA.
