forgive me for returning to twitter just to complain about this: why does discord have an “Active Now” sidebar in the friends list that only shows me the music and gaming taste of the 13-year-old kids i do NOT have on my friends list and why can't i fucking turn it off 😭
discord do you not fucking understand how maddening it is to have part of the screen real estate for the “friends” permanently dedicated to the inane activities of people i have no interest in being friends with. do you not understand why it makes me want to fucking uninstall you
it's a kind of psychic violence that is difficult to explain. i already have trouble with people who think they're closer to me than they are, which i have a responsibility to maintain a polite distance from, and yet you've just decided i must know what they're up to privately
