discord's networking design where it sends incremental compressed state updates and does RPC calls, all over a single persistent connection, is really cool and efficient many situations but unfortunately it makes the app completely useless if you are on Train Wifi in Brexitland
i wish they would do Something to mitigate this it's insufferable

@hikari I get this Experience during storm-brought outages over across the sea from Brexitland, everything else works on overloaded 5G (if slowly), but not Discord…
