jump to expanded postc versus rust is a perennial topic for vapid takes on twitter because the environment encourages it. those who've clocked 10,000 hours in the c/c++ mines understand their problems. those who've done the same for rust understand its solutions. twitter distracts you from the work
this is not unique to this topic of course, we are in an age where seemingly everyone's attention span is essentially nil, and asking them to try to learn or try something new is more or less impossible
i don't think rust is perfect, but i do think the popular complaints about it are incredibly revealing about how senior an engineer someone is (or is not)
