i see myself headed towards a point where i kind of hate music notation, not because of notation itself, but because i can trust my ears, whereas i can't trust the people responsible for what's before my eyes
this is specifically when i'm trying to learn a piece of music i've heard before and it's specifically some guy's transcription, not the original. this is most often what is the case, because i'm not a classical music person
i think i need to spend a thousand hours on just transcription, transcription, transcription
