β¦hang on is it possible that big soundscapes on the IEMs hit better when i'm in the other room because my brain knows this is a larger space and so the sound is more physically plausible????
@hikari that would be WILD but not unheard of
@scarlet it's not as wild as you may think! earphone and headphone design is complicated by the fact that your brain usually knows what the room you're in sounds like and this affects how you process sound

@hikari yeah, I've been dealing with this in speakers while redoing my speaker setup
the mathematically βperfectβ tuning sounds off because sound doesn't respond the way the brain thinks it should in this room!
@scarlet oh yep that's a thing too, pitch perception gets affected by the resonances in your speakers, in your room, and inside your skull
