so i realised lately that it's funny my first fender is possibly the least fender fender ever. i used to think it was really gibson. but no, it's not quite that either, though closer. finally it hits me: the fender special edition custom telecaster fmt hh is spiritually a prs
dual humbuckers, mahogany set neck, no pickguard, yeah that's lespaulish, sure. but flame maple top, body-friendly carve, super flat fingerboard radius, slightly wider nut width, premium unorthodox details, made in indonesia, not made-in-usa legacy brand pricing? prs se baby!
this also just tracks with how i broadly speaking hate how gibson guitars look and like how prs guitars look
and if i compare to a prs, the only thing i think it's really lacking is the fucking birds. the birds are so cool. all guitars should have the prs birds. theyre important
