i live in one of the bearnaise countries it's dire out here
it's illegal to be cool in france, they are responsible for a lot of the blandness of european food, and they still have the worst โpostโ-colonial relations of any european power, but they also have the tgv and nuclear power, and i'm british, so i can't say france's all bad
@hikari France has the same cultural thing going on as the UK, whereby theres lots of cool things going on but it all has links to immigrants or places outside of Paris and thereby is Not French according to the stuffy rich white guys who run the Government.
@erincandescent yeah. my very vague impression is that france is somehow even worse at this than the uk, but as an outsider i can't judge the particulars. i do say โhigh cultureโ for a reason, though
