finally doneβ¦ i lowered the action across-the-board by roughly 0.5mm (my high E string is now <1mm off the 12th fret!) and restrung from what i believe were d'addario 10β46's to fender 9β42's
i see why ernie ball calls these super slinkies gosh, i almost feel bad for them
holy shit, after my dramatic lowering of the action and switch to lower gauge strings, the super high frets (16γ22) are suddenly completely accessible? i can just take the melody i learned on frets 3γ8, mostly on high E and B, and effortlessly play it an entire octave up???
this is a REVELATORY moment what the fuck what the fuck it's like i suddenly unlocked half of the guitar aaaaa

@cas i am told that vibrato systems are troublesome to keep in tune! a friend suggested that i would have an easier time as a beginner if my first guitar was hardtailed, that's one reason i got this particular guitar
