jump to expanded postI"M STARTING TO CRACK THE CODE (chords) (maybe)
for better or worse the guitar will be the goat for me because it's the first instrument i've managed to figure out chord progressions with and that has been my greatest struggle
i'm breaking my own rules by posting this but if you can figure out what this sequence means you'll understand why i'm happy

@hikari V-vi-IV-I-vi-viio ? Not sure I recognise the full progression (obviously the first four are an "axis of awesome" progression)
I'd suggest also experimenting with root+seventh, e.g., here are two ways to do a ii-V-I

You can get smoother voice leading with descending fifths if you don't insist on the root being lowest, but I'll let you figure that out
@shift_reset noted, i'll come back to this! the content of the tweet is a transcription of an attempt at figuring out a chord progression from memory for a highly familiar song, without any training in functional harmony, roman numeral chords or chord progressions in general whatsoever. once i have finished that attempt at making sense of that song, i am going to listen to it for the first time in a while and see how badly i messed it up ^^;
@shift_reset which is to say: don't spoil me for the time being on what the progression "should be" if you by some miracle manage to figure out what it is
@hikari I wouldn't dream of it (I'm not sure what the song is, for the record)
