jump to expanded postthose two yamashita tatsurou ones should've been added many, many, many years back, they've been very close to the heart for very long
and regular readers may recall that pendulum album was something already half-owned since a decade ago!
but the ultimate lifeform? i must confess, he is a new addition
in three months' time it'll be fun to make a collage of the first year of hikari_no_yume's music taste being influenced by friends rather than kind of just ambiently existing in a void with few good reference points
at this point it could be self-sustaining, there's enough starting points for exploration that even if hikari_no_yume suddenly had not a friend in the world tomorrow, she would still find interesting music, but god connecting over music is the best thing in the world
stop the presses! v v important addition, the new Pavlov's Bell album, βPhysics Isn't Fairβ (THIS IS SCIENCE ROCK)
if the band hadn't been a little slow with putting it on bandcamp it'd have been in the library two days ago already!!!
it's kind of like The Avalanches if The Avalanches were Okabe Rintarou with a guitar
@hikari When they said "All Hail Shadow" it wasn't just a song title, it was a command give to the Chosen One(s) as they're Waking Up to Never Turn Back, even when Almost Dead before The Doom.
That there is more to who you are as a person than "Event : To the World of the Memory", your past and what other see of your Mad Matrix are not "you"
"You" is all that and more, a choice that can-
Capture you or set you free
I am all, I am all of me
I am, I am all of me!
@hokaze i wish i was the right kind of nerd to get all these jokes but i do appreciate it
@hikari The joke is that they're all just track titles from the Shadow the Hedgehog OST*
That have been mangled by my half-asleep brain into vaguely alluding to how people will literally go on some sort of identity and self-discovery journey about the many possible aspects of themselves, who they want to be and present as vs who they were, while grappling with some pained/liminal/sleep-deprived/affilcted state...
...and then wonder why they're drawn to the Ultimate Lifeform, considering the thematic overlap and parallels there :P
(* exception is "Almost Dead" - it's part of the game's soundtrack but isn't included on the official OST and appeared on the "Lost and Found: Shadow the Hedgehog Vocal Trax" album instead)
@hikari Yess, Tatsuro Yamashita!
