jump to expanded postFlowers for Algernon is an utterly harrowing thing to force kids in school to read
if they ever get the sense they may be on the peak, nearing the fall, if they ever internalise it
it will be horrible
this has not happened to me, but it scares the life out of me
and so i think it makes complete sense as mandatory reading and i'm glad they forced me to read it
and this, this is why you must not forget that there is a day tomorrow, and as dear as the sun might be, try not to fly directly into it
nothing wagered, nothing lost, everything wagered, really fucking stupid decision in most cases, at least keep a percentage point there, ideally wager at most half, do not, do not make the decision you can't fully undo without careful consideration, etc, etc
if you wager everything and lose, you achieve nothing beyond becoming pure symbol, and i don't want to be a symbol, i want to be a living thing for as long as the earth permits me this. do not wager your entire existence, look out for yourself, give yourself something to keep
