a certain ritual is in order, it feels like. this brain is temporarily very schizo currently because it's coming out of psychosis, so it feels extra fun to do it right now, and so, let's see, i think i see how we'll bury this arc in a way so hikari_no_yume you won't believe it…

if you've followed us all long enough, hopefully something in here is familiar, because one thing is clear: whatever mess created this arc, it didn't start this year, or last, but ten years ago. and the actual work of fixing whatever it was we were upset about still remains!

the new avatar is of course one of our old ones, from early 2018, of our ffxiv character, used when we were about to move to sweden, also used for a while after we had moved. it might be the last time we had a coherent single self-image i think. make of that what you will.
and the referencing of nanoha is of course from 2016, where we picked up an obsession with that series and with magical girls as a concept from… well… let's say the entity that probably made us wish for [forbidden thing] just by contact with them :)
will this do anything? will it be comfy? will we change it in five days? who knows, but it felt necessary.

if you've been paying attention, you know we have “meaning of pfp and banner and display name combination” neurosis and they're linked to the psychotic break somehow, so i hope you can start to see why this particular not-thought-through decision has to be quickly reversed
and gee, didn't we just accidentally validate the hypothesis that kept us in the problem zone for a while there? we need to not do that! and luckily our body is protecting us again and perhaps we'll be able to sleep easy again later, but yikes
